Tanner Powell

Event Manager

Tanner is an ex-army American who moved to Germany just over 5 years ago. He currently coaches (CF L2) and trains at Dein CrossFit and CrossFit Parsdorf.

Tanner has been involved with the CF Events a number of years now, from the Dutch Throwdown to the Swiss Throwdown and several events in between.

And finally he simply enjoys the excitement of competition. From building up the crowd, to seeing the emotions go through people and fans.

We have been organising fitness events for more than 7 years now. We enjoy seeing athletes compete in their first competition and are very grateful to do this together with our management teams, staff, and volunteers. We are looking forward to giving you and our athletes a memorable experience.

Derek & Margay

Media Managers

Derek, known as @wodphotography, serves as the Director of Media, while Margay is the Media Director & Marketing. Together, we took on the challenge of building the CF Events concept, starting in 2021 when we partnered with Karen and Joost to take over the Dutch Throwdown. That marked the beginning of an exciting journey that has continued to grow since.

In our roles, we manage the entire media experience for all our events, ensuring everything aligns with our shared vision. Margay oversees daily media operations, while Derek leads the media team with photography, videography, and graphic design. On event days, we guide a talented media crew to capture every moment and share the energy and excitement of each throwdown.

We’re excited for what’s next and can’t wait to continue building unforgettable experiences!

Anders Behrmann

Operations Manager

Anders has been running crossfit and functional fitness events for more than ten years all over Europe. He founded the Swedish Federation of Functional Fitness in 2017 and up until January 2024 he was the General Secretary of the International Functional Fitness Federation (iF3).

He lives in Sweden, teaches journalism at a media institute at Linnaeus University and is the co-founder of the AI-based fitness app Relentless Method.

We will provide you with a t-shirt, food, drinks and snacks and €50 allowance per day (€25 for build-up). If you live more than 90 minutes from the venue and need to travel to our events, we will provide you with accommodation too.

Please note! When you work on the last day of our event, we expect you to stay until everything has been broken down after the event. Normally this takes less than two hours after final heat.

Lübeck

Christian Kock

Event Manager

Christian has been doing CrossFit for 15 years, and as a CrossFit coach since 2013. He is the proud box owner of Trave CrossFit in Lübeck since 2015. Originally he started in 1989 with martial arts (Kickboxing, Thai boxing and Escrima with Bernd Schubert), he dedicated himself to CrossFit after a serious motorcycle accident.

Recently, he has been bringing his passion for CrossFit not only into the box as a coach, but also as an event manager at CF Events. He organises the Deutschland Showdown Lübeck to bring the community together with the sport he loves.

Marco Leiner

Event Manager

Marco has been doin crossfit since 2012 and he’s holding the CrossFit Level 2 Trainer since 2015, also the Fitness Trainer C-Lizens since 2020. He’s the owner and CEO of CrossFit Cenral Wiesbaden, founded in 2015. Between 2017 and 2019 he competed in some major european competitions as a Masters athlete. After injury, his focus is now to stay fit and healthy as long as possible.

Jens Konrad

Competition Manager

Jens has been a professional coach since 2005, first in global gyms but then he switched to CrossFit in 2013 and is currently working on his Level 4 Trainer certificate. He is the affiliate owner and head coach of CrossFit JABAV in Neu-Isenburg. Since he was a child, he was a sports addict and that’s why he decided to go professional.
